Bartile concrete roof tiles are rated for winds up to 125 mph with standard installation, tested up to 150 mph with hurricane clips and glued-down tile, and rated for hail impact under ANSI/FM 4473: Class 4 for our Legendary Slate and Legendary Split Timber profiles, and Class 3 for New England Slate, Split Timber, Sierra Mission, European and the machine-made tile in our Yorkshire lines. That proven strength is why every Bartile roof is backed by our 75-Year Limited Lifetime Warranty. However, a Bartile roof is also environmentally enlightened. Even the waste from our tile manufacturing process is recycled. Further, a Bartile roof is built to last, and concrete roofing tiles are fully recyclable. Asphalt shingles, on the other hand, wind up clogging landfills to the tune of some 9 million tons a year.
In addition to their full recyclability, another environmental benefit is Bartile’s built-in cold roof system. By naturally allowing the free flow of air between the tile and the roof deck with our ventilated battens, up to 50% of the heat is diverted away from the attic, typically lowering energy consumption by 22% with corresponding reductions in your utility costs. Further, the free-flowing air not only has insulation properties, but also serves to dry underlying structures more quickly, thereby increasing the lifespan of a home.
